The idea that an OS vendor should get a 30% cut of any digital product or subscription sold in an app is going to increasingly look greedy beyond belief. Yeah there's definitely a "pick your battles" strategy element to hosting a game store. That said, Linux gamers that I know have the same sentiment toward recent Epic vs Valve. Epic Store is kinda doing the same thing to them as Apple / Google / MS does to us.

Of course Epic does, historically, have decent Linux support, so that could change on a dime depending on your roadmap. It's just a parallel that I think should be noted.
