I usually have a lot of time for this writer but this is a very silly article. Epic's goal isn't to drive anyone out of business, and they have been quite open about their strategy. The PC games market is big enough to support more than one store.https://www.vg247.com/2019/07/09/epic-games-wants-pc-games-market-to-itself/ …

How will there be competition when exclusives effectively "negate" all competition for other stores which get games 6-12 months after release? How can X store get customers while games are locked to one platform to begin with?
-
Even if stores adjust revenue splits, all there will be is an endless fight for exclusives and this market turning into numerous walled gardens.

Don't put your "store" on a level with GOG. They actually invest in customer choice, features & uniting the PC gaming community. You invest in exclusives monopoly, fragmenting PC market & hurting Kickstarter projects. You're investing in the wrong parts of the puzzle.

Nobody wants lots of "stores and platforms". Thats how netflix got as big as it has and why piracy is on an uptrend since everyone is trying to roll their own streaming service.

All the Streaming services is probably why the Streaming services are doing a great job at bringing out some pretty awesome shows. Wouldn't have those shows if every show was on every streaming service.
