Then what's the point of having their own store if you're just gonna keep throwing money away running it? That's awful business? Surely you can see that? Right?

we all see it, Epic doesn't. of course seeing their goal is to make the Epic Game Store the monopoly, they don't see a problem with running at a loss now if they can kill off the competition.

They're not going to kill anyone... Epic know exactly what they are doing and it's going to work. They are using exclusivity to increase their install base, they know that won't lead to profit until the improve their store. But install base is very important as a foot hold.

"I'm not supporting Epic... Enemy of my enemy is my friend." so epic is your friend, again the evils of convince and pro-consumerism.

They are all my enemies which make them all my friends. Don't you understand I want what's best for the gamer in the long term. I try and see the short term crap that sometimes is caused as a result.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

and now we are back to the bullshit argument that exclusivity is good for gamers, its not. and what a wonderful world you have envisioned, where the richest companies get to decide where we are allowed to buy games, thank you for making games MORE EXPENSIVE.

Ultimately though it’s the creators who decide how to publish and distribute their work. First, creators decide whether to self-publish or to partner with a publisher for marketing and funding. Then they or their publisher decide on distribution.

When they’re figuring out distribution, they seek offers from platform companies and stores, and decide what best meets their needs, which span marketing, customer reach, funding, and managing risk. These are negotiations and the best deal wins.

So you mean publisher choose EGS, as your store meets more publisher needs, get better marketing, customer reach, funding, risk than Steam, so they don't publish the game on Steam? You sure Epic paying big money to publisher to get exclusive isn't the main factor?
