There’s another complicating factor: many of those features are tied to Steam and only work for games run through the Steam client, so no multi-store support (except through Steam key sales), no PC/console/mobile cross-platform support, etc.

That's just false, Activision's "Launcher" is just what Blizzard uses for their titles. They've only just recently allowed for their business partner Activision to start admitting games onto it, which was a change from http://Blizzard.net to http://Battle.net , in 2017.

So this is commonly misunderstood... The company is named Activision-Blizzard. It's all one company. Blizzard doesn't "allow" Activision to do anything; Activision-Blizzard does things. Continue on with your discussion. Just wanted to clarify that one point.

Source? Blizzard started selling non Blizzard title (Destiny 2, Blizzard as publisher) on BattleNet since 2017 and there is no Activision launcher before they start selling COD on BattleNet in late 2018, by Blizzard's decision. Which PC store has ever buy 3rd party exclusive?
