Hence, every developer that wanted to support friends or cloud saves across multiple stores and platforms had to write their own systems for that, which few could afford. Epic built these systems for our own games, now we’re sharing them with all developers with no lock-in.

Still, no one except gog is doing something about it, everyone develops their own systems and no one shares them.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Epic Games Store and Launcher host cloud saves for games bought on competing services, share its social networking infrastructure with them, and support Steam/GOG/Origin login for multiplayer games. Great stuff.

They have oauth for the steam account to connect with other services. My indie gala, fanatical, uplay is connected to steam.
