Epic is funding the cost of all Kickstarter refunds resulting from Shenmue III’s move to the Epic Games store, so that refunds won’t reduce Ys Net’s development funding.https://twitter.com/pcgamer/status/1146056622915162112 …

Hey, Tim. Why did you cancel Unreal Tournament? The amount of money you have and you cancelled it... you could easily get the old team back and finish it up for the fans. Why wont you?... Not about the money, Right?
There are two considerations. First, many core developers on Unreal Tournament drove early Fortnite Battle Royale and are still key contributors. Second, we don’t know how to “finish” UT as the project was highly experimental and hadn’t found its essence.
I hope there will not be more exclusives that divide the players. Do more good moves like with Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls. Take care of a good PR and not a bad one!
Epic has nothing to do with these games coming to pc. QD planned this before EGS even existed. Epic just moneyhatted these games like they did with many other upcoming pc games.
The thing is it should not be "when future games go Epic-exclusive", it should be "never". Crowfunding is already pretty damaged, and last minute exclusives like this only make it harder to devs in order to gain trust from backers.
I understand why you feel the need for platform exclusives to try to break the Steam monopoly. That said, cannibalizing the DRM-free option in the process is saddening. I almost never take advantage of the option, but knowing it is there helps reassure in a world of impermanence.
"The details of the refund process haven't been announced yet" I gave 600 dollars to the Shenmue Kickstarter and I'm absolutely sure I'll never see my money back due to your company's attitude. But I learned a lot from this experience. No EGS or KS ever in my whole life.
Also why does epic store's road map exist if guys continually push back features? I noticed a lot of the features like cloud saves were supposed to come out back in January and yet is push backed every month or two.
What if you shut down your entire company instead, please. I used to be a fan. Gonna be at least 10 years before I even consider giving $5 to Epic after all this BS, and this is too little too late.
Valve is running an event that let's you pay to play....while Epic is filling my library with free great games as I play Fortnite for free. I pay 15% taxes on every Steam skin on the market and the devs don't even get half. Epic is doing things right and encouraging future devs.
