There is no force in this industry stronger than money, EpicGames are using the ultimate force here to be that middle-man Sweeney "supposedly" criticized years before.

You might as as well as call Steam's new tier system for revenue split as being a subtle force that forces exclusivity, using that kind of logic you are using there.

HOW? Does Valve openly strike exclusivity deals with games to appear "only" on their store or what? How's the revenue split affecting such a thing if it even existed?

You are claiming that Epic offering an incentive to the dev/pubs is the same thing as being forced, where as Force actually implies there is no Choice, the dev/pubs always have a choice, they are not forced to take the deal at all.

But , using your logic of offering a deal that involves money as being a force. Valve's new teir system relies on sales that happen through Steam, meaning they have an incentive to not put their games on other stores because every sale at another store...

Again, does Valve require that? Unlike Epic, does Valve require for those games to be sold ONLY within Steam? it's very clear EGS does that and to directly affect Steam (and occasionally GOG), proof is some exclusive games appearing on Game Pass, held in a 70/30 split store.

Epic doesn't require devs/pubs to be exclusive either to be on EGS, but they choose to be exclusive based on what ever was being offered and what they feel is good for their company. In both cases, Epic and Valve, they are being incentized to be exclusive to a store.

They don't choose that, stop making up unrealistic things here, friend, Epic Games require those games not appearing on Steam in particular even if it means them appearing on Uplay for instance, Epic has a holy crusade against Steam with Sweeney parroting about 30% in tweets.

Yes they do choose that. The dev/pub are given an offer, they are giving the stipulations of the offer, which includes exclusivity, they negoitate back and forth, till they come to a mutually benefiial agreement, which again includes being exclusive, which is a choice they made

So you do realize that Epic Games forces that exclusivity by way of money and tries to force itself in as the middle-man, right? Affecting 10s of games in the process not just one... It seems you just can't put it in here using clearer words.

The word “force” in no way describes the situation where a developer chooses to work with Epic because we offered them a better deal than Steam.

The word "force" describes perfectly your practice of locking games behind exclusivity deals to strong-arm customers to your inferior store.

Just be honest. If you didnt bribe those publisher with Fortnite money when signing the exclusive deal. No one would put their game on your trash store . LOL

You make the condition of getting those games as timed exclusive to your store using the 88/12 revenue split like a public face, then the real deal behind the scenes involving $2.25m+ like Snapshot's is what greately, if not fully facilitates those deals.

IF you don't "require" exclusivity by way of that millions $$$ sweetener you offer to publishers, then are you running a charity? Can you make those offers without exclusivity?
