Yes, the result is the same. The issue has nothing to do with exclusivity, it never has, the actual issue that these people have is just the games they want are not on Steam. These people would be ok with Steam exclusive games, because the games would be on Steam.

I still think it's wrong. I still think games should be free to be on as many stores as they wish, on launch day. Why not attempt to strike a deal with Valve/speak directly about the revenue thing?

On that node I believe Epic has failed to communicate properly, also most people just see big titles like The Division 2 or Anno 1800 who are well funded by Ubisoft and don't see the indie titles you've helped funding. Currently the Launcher/Store is a bad piece of bits tho

So
@TimSweeneyEpic Why not offer something that gamers want, instead of just building the games hostage? Instead of "buy the game here or don't get it", why not come out with even just 1 unique feature for your store? Something that gives the GAMER a reason to choose epicThanks. So you wanted to get people mad at valve for the 70/30.. yet people are mad at you for.. exclusives. I'm pretty sure.. you're in the wrong here.

How about instead of exclusives you pull Ubi's original model and release on steam, but force people to use Uplay for game to work. I hated it, but instead of buying Ubisoft games on steam I begrudgingly bought them on Uplay and I was happy of the option to purchase on steam.

I don't have a problem with the deals you're doing, and I admire the attempts you're making to improve the developer's cut across the industry, but you're not going to retain ANY customers unless your storefront and launcher drastically improve 1/2

I know I won't personally use the store until there's a cart and the ability to follow games to get notifications when they're released and go on sale, for example. Others need a wishlist, or reviews. These are all _basic_ features and it's baffling that you aren't adding them.

No-one supports Linux the way Valve do, and so they get my cash everytime. GoG made a lot of promises but their Galaxy client is still not on Linux even though it's a Qt app. And CDPR also made promises on Witcher 3 and dropped that too. I don't see Epic or others getting my cash
-
You do realize that the investment vs potential return for Linux support is limited (to put it mildly)? Not saying people shouldn't build for Linux, but cash isn't a great argument. :)pic.twitter.com/rAfuUffsoj
