And honestly, the main reason I hate Epic is mainly due to exclusivity, I could care less about them if they weren't doing paid exclusivity, but YANKING games that were supposed to be released on Steam(and not bound to it, ffs @TimSweeneyEpic ) makes me hate them.

So I believe this approach passes the test of ultimately benefitting gamers after game storefronts have rebalanced and developers have reinvested more of their fruits of their labor into creation rather than taxation.
-
Of course, there are LOTS of challenges along the way, and Epic is fully committed to solving all problems that arise for gamers are for our partners as the Epic Games store grows.

I seriously doubt that any of these benefits get passed to consumers. It's the publisher raking in the additional profits and they have never been pro-consumer.

It's a 25% increase!

oh, yeah, you are right: So other understand, for simplicity sake $100 x 70% = 70 $100 x 88% = 88 88-70 = 18. 18/70 = 25.7%, So getting $88 is 25.7% more compared to $70.

Reinvest? Mobile gaming is huge because publishers can get huge returns with low investment, the same will go for games. Price reduction? Please, not a single game on the EGS is cheaper than their Steam counterpart except for Metro, but only in America.

If 3 isn't occurring consistently *right now* with all the publishers who are receiving *both* a lump sum figure from Epic *and* the increased revenue from the increased store cut, why should we believe that it'll *start* happening later on for games without that lump sum?

I'm a gamer, not a publisher. What benefits do I get from buying a game on the Fortnite store instead of Steam?pic.twitter.com/5p37YF3Wf8

1) will MAYBE happen with small devs, not large pubs. They already swim in money 2) will SURELY happen 3) will NEVER happen. We already got significant price reductions (pre-order, sales etc) & on the other hand the physical store/consoles price structure as a determinant.

I think your store already showed us that 3) isn't really what they are aiming for under any circumstance, they get a bigger margin but the prices are the same plus what we saw during your big sale where YOU were financing the hit and even so they jumped ship not wanting it lower
-
IMO, reduction of price is more about 2 things: 1- enticing a developer to price their up coming game at a lower price than they normally would have or 2- slow down the increasing of prices over time due to the increase of costs.
