Why are you on board with this those other peons that don't use an 18% revenue split?

Hmm, this is a big if but if Epic Game Store appears on GOG Galaxy, the 18% revenue split still applies.

Epic is hoping that the competition in the game store space will lead the other stores into reducing their revenue split. Think they are open with that aim.

Epic is hoping to drive GoG and Steam out of the market, because they know there is no realistic way for either of those to match Epic's revenue, without getting hurt/cutting features.

It’s a misconception that store features like forums and achievements add a significant operating cost. The costs of operating these things is negligible compared to 30% or even 12% of store revenue.

Those aren't even features to the STORE and more the community, which still affect operating cost, I'm sure, but there's many more. Specially Community features.pic.twitter.com/GKOFsTkXC9

Infographic is out of date: Epic has: 3rd party keys, doesn't have monthly security breaches, never had them, unless you are counting customers doing stupid stuff then you need to include Steam as having monthly security breaches, Epic has offline play

Forums and achievements don't add much cost, but what about cloud saves, media hosting, mods hosting and delivery system, profile inventories with item trading? I have gigabytes of screenshots and cloud saves on Steam and millions of players have the same. Are those low cost too?

Okay, there is going to have to be some guesstimation here but 0.026 usd per 1 gb times by 90m MAU users* = 2.34 mill usd in storage cost per month so 30m annual. In 2017, steam made 4.37bn in revenue from game sales not including their other transactions. So its like 1% of rev.
