The fact that you knew this BEFORE you set up the exclusivity arrangement means you're NOT "supporting" existing commitments but in fact actively sabotaging them while claiming to be limited by the consequences of the arrangement YOU SET UP.

Here’s the bottom line. Epic would be happy to fund partners paying 30% for Steam keys for backers if Valve were willing to provide Steam keys for a game that’s not actively in release on Steam.

Why do you keep repeating this as if it was the only way? Look, it's good that you're willing to pay for the keys instead of demand them for free. But still, if Valve doesn't comply, saying "welp Valve doesn't want to!" isn't going to cut it. There are more possible solutions.

Such as what I keep saying: let us wait until the game launches on Steam to get our Steam key, if we choose to. (just make sure this includes physical copies too)

Epic would be happy to support that as well.

In that case, what's stopping YsNet, Deep Silver and you from just... doing that? We backers made the game possible in the first place, we'd appreciate not having to wait so much just to see what's going to happen with our game codes.

Developers can’t automatically generate Steam keys. They must request them from Valve. The policy document says lots of stuff like:pic.twitter.com/5jwIFRLVQS

So have Deep Silver tried requesting keys to fulfill Shenmue 3 crowdfunding rewards? We keep hearing the likes of "I think Valve wouldn't allow it" but it's curious that we haven't heard of it being tried.

Yeah, this too. Why don't you just send the request for generating the keys? If they agree, great. If they refuse, then look at alternative options, such as letting backers get their key after the Steam launch instead of the regular launch date.

Moreover if the request establishes a communication channel, THAT would be the ideal place to make the alleged offer of "paying 30% for keys", not a fire-and-forget email to a possibly unmonitored inbox.

I assure you I didn’t contact an unmonitored email address!

From what you said
@TimSweeneyEpic the actual issue is that@Shenmue_3 also give no information. I just checked and I received no answer to my mail and kickstarter message that I sent. Something like an answer about late steam key redeem would be nice...0 replies 0 retweets 0 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
