Why do I have a hard time believing this... When looking back at all the games that were offering Steam keys in the past only to be bait switch with Epic keys, because they took your "exclusivity deal" just something to consider, since that's what has been happening eversince 1/2

In other words, not at trap at all. You really should tone down the rhetoric. It is hurting your credibility at this point. Funding opportunities are everywhere, few of those have unpopular strings attached like exclusivity. I never said "disadvantage Steam customers" either.

By now I believe Lyin' Timmy's word lack any credibility.

No shit, they wouldn't want some devs to abuse the system by not allowing Steam purchases but selling the games on their own personal store or something similar (basically get 100% cut). Devs have no business generating keys if they aren't even selling the game on the Steam store

These rules sound like safety net for Valve to against possible abuse. Why don't you just send the request for the generation of the keys and see if they agree or not? If they don't, try to make a deal with them or just allow us to get the Steam key after the exclusivity ends
-
Sure, they "may" deny the request. But why not try instead of assuming?

"I'm literally buying game's exclusivity and trapping them in my shit platform, but Steam is the big evil for not letting me use their resources without any benefit for them"

"disadvantage Steam customers" It's pretty telling, that you have no idea what that could mean. If a game is locked behind an exclusivity deal to a competing store (>>>Epic<<<), I would call that a disadvantage for Steam users.

Yeah, Valve should just provide infrastructure for games they don't even profit from for free.

"ruling out any funding opportunity associated with exclusivity" Isn't this a clear case, where Steam keys would not be required? Because the game would be sold, well exclusively, on ANOTHER store?

Right? How dare Valve require you also sell your game on their store, if you want to generate keys! /s
