No, that was a misleading article. The Easy Anti Cheat team is continuing to work on Linux support. Native support is in a beta state and works for some games, however we’re quite a ways from the ideal of a WINE/Proton solution for emulated games.

-you want Fortnite to stay afloat you better do something. Relying on third party software is useless because you never know what could happen to it. There might be an accidental update which will completely break all of the hard work of trying to ''port'' the game to Linux.
