Is escaping the 30% Steam tax a privilege reserved only for games made by powerful corporations? What moral principle prohibits smaller developers and publishers from making deals to get funding and lower 12% store fees, or prohibits Epic from offering them?

And Epic doesn't get a cut from third party sales either. 30% is standard in third party as well and Epic wants to see that change.

Luckily it wont, or everything would be 100% bare bones and featureless like epic is

The massive cut Steam takes has nothing to do with sustaining the features it has. Those features are super cheap to sustain. Valve and other stores on the PC taking 30% are numbered.

then why 3rd world countries have to pay fees for their games? oh yeah right, because 10% ish stores are very much surviving this, gog and steam are dead, and discord store is still alive oh wait

Discord decided to go a different direction since they didn't stand a chance at being a serious competitor anyways. They now just target the superfans to sell games to at a 10% cut.

By the way Humble only takes 15% , they take an additional 10% for charity GoG no longer takes 30%, they take lower, an negotiated price.

going by that logic, steam takes 25% if you sell 10 million, which is actually reachable by a lot of games, and 20% if you sell 50 million

WTF, we love regressive taxes now? It's like a country that taxes most folks at 30%, but gives the wealthy a special tax rate of 25%, and the ultra-wealthy a 20% tax rate...

regressive? you're the one trying a rate that IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT PROFITABLE for you and trying to get everyone to move on your store. Regressive would be 40 to 50%. 30% is the market cut and the fee that gets the market going.

Prove that 12% isn't profitable. You also don't understand what regressive tax is. 30% is the standard, but that doesn't mean it is justified. Also the market is already going, but it is going on a high tax rate that isn't even close to be needed.
