So Discord doesn't have a game store. They have a subscription-based rental service from the look of it. Speaking of the awesome site http://itch.io , can I buy one of your exclusive games there? You know, since they have a dev friendly cut?

This has been Epic’s thesis all along. Great games will succeed regardless of store, so stores should play a supporting role for developers and publisher, and not collect a 30% tax on everyone’s hard work.

I fundamentally disagree with this. The distribution (store) and the content (games) should have a symbiotic relationship. You're reinforcing a parasitic relationship where the distribution just feeds off the content, only at a slightly lower rate than 30%.

Without knowing a)the timeframe of Ubisoft's fiscal year b)contributing titles to PC sales c)exact numbers for every store this is just another spin. A) EGS is just up since 12/18 B) only Div2 & Anno 1800 are EGS exclusives C) all other IPs are available at Steam & others.
-
You just ignore that successful IPs like ACOg/ACOy/FC5 & others are available on Steam & others and ofc contribute to the successful numbers. In the fiscal report they state that Div2 sales are up 10x! on Uplay. It's save to say, Epic's contribution therefore is only minor.
