So Discord doesn't have a game store. They have a subscription-based rental service from the look of it. Speaking of the awesome site http://itch.io , can I buy one of your exclusive games there? You know, since they have a dev friendly cut?

Not yet, but our partners are free to sell access to Epic store exclusives through Humble. More partnerships are in the works. Each one will be announced when it’s ready.https://www.shacknews.com/article/110641/epic-partners-with-humble-bundle-for-epic-games-store-titles …

What's your word on Epic-exclusive games being sold on Microsoft's store ? Does that mean the exclusivity deals only target Steam and GOG ? People on r/FuckEpic reported being able to buy the PC version of Metro Exodus, as well as other supposedly exclusive games, there.

Most are PC-exclusive to Epic (+ Humble keys) for a period of time, some are co-exclusive to Epic plus other particular named stores. Examples include UPlay, Windows Store.3 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

I think Microsoft's store also takes a 30% cut. Also, in the case of Ubisoft and Uplay, I don't think Ubisoft wouldn't make their games unavailable on their first-party store.

No, but according to Ubisoft, consumers disliked EGS so much it increased the sales projections on Uplay. Win-win for Ubisoft, the publisher.

Here’s the article quoting Ubisoft on the topic. Read it and look for the words in quotes to see what they actually said (unquoted characterizations of their statements, such as the headline, are the writer editorializing):https://www.engadget.com/2019/02/15/ubisoft-steam-epic-division-two-sales/ …

Since I really don't trust the ethical standards of most media, I prefer to get it from the source whenever I can. So, for clarity, here is the raw data from Ubisoft. https://www.ubisoft.com/en-US/company/investor_center/earnings_sales.aspx …

The key point I was referring to was the below claim that PC sales were up 79% but uPlay was up 150%. Meaning that the vast majority of revenue growth from PC has been on uPlay specifically, despite selling on EGS. But maybe that will change next FY? What do you think, Tim?pic.twitter.com/ze6T68DDKq

Ubisoft has never stated the ratio of UPlay vs Steam sales from prior games so it’s impossible to calculate that.

I would clarify my statement, since it was misunderstood: The vast majority of *Ubisoft's* revenue growth from PC game sales has been on uPlay. That's what Ubisoft is telling it's investors, to which lying would be an SEC violation. I do not know what role EGS played in that.
