Any chance Epic could pay off the best contributors to the Unreal Tournament Reboot and fashion it into a standalone EGS exclusive. Obv Fortnight is now main focus but there is enough content to offer all franchise maps & weapons without MTX or lootbox. A modern celebration of UT

I added VR support to a fork of UT4 a while back. I’ve been tempted to revisit it and port to 4.22 or 4.23 for new rendering features/performance improvements. Also managed to get one map running on iOS with touch controls too using the forward renderer on iPhone.

Oh, if I may, I have a question about "Unreal" game that tingles me for years. When I started to play "Unreal", it felt a bit like trap planet from "Sargasso of Space", by Andre Norton. Is it just me, or there was "a thing"? :) Thank you.

The designers envisioned the setting as a sort of “Bermuda Triangle in space”. I haven’t heard that book discussed, but it’s possible some on the team were familiar with it.

I still remember the goosebumps from the very beginning of the game, when you enter the ship and you see a creature roaring and running out of sight, for then you enter and see all those dead bodies laying on the ground :)

I still wonder what the first map on Na Pali would look like now, or SkyTown. I haven't seen the likes of either since, in terms of atmosphere and vibe, esp paired with great music tracks like Hub2 or Run. That game really got me deep into figuring out how games worked.
