Why did Activision, EA, and UbiSoft break away and build their own stores from scratch? Because it’s way more profitable to sell their games that way than to give 30% to a store.

We,the community, are not as stupid as you think we are. We do know exactly what you are attempting to do. You do not wish to co-exist with other stores. You want to completely crush steam and every other store you can so Epic can take their place.

This. We're not as thick headed as you'd like to think we are Tim. We know you left PC in a salty manner, and that you now want to come back, to entirely own the platform and have it be your hoe. Well it ain't going to happen, because we'll fight you to make sure it doesn't.

FFS, Windows 10 S doesn't simply "block users from accessing all competing stores". It is a version of Windows where you can only install software from the Microsoft Store. It's discontinued anyways; now there's Win 10 "S Mode" that doesn't require payment to disable restrictions
-
Microsoft made a great move there, phasing out these locked-down versions of Windows and introducing S mode. It’s a useful for sandboxed use, for example in a library or classroom, while enabling the computer’s owner to turn it off and install anything they want.

A billionaire is spreading a conspiracy theory, might as well say Microsoft is planning a missle strike at this point. They can't do that because its illegal and their smart enough to think ye we probably shouldn't break the law for our own benifit, whilst on the other hand...

Coexist? Is that what you call buying exclusives and preventing them to be in any other platform? From where I come from that always meant monopoly

Instead of paid exclusive periods and other anti-consumer policies that limit choice why don't you offer incentives that would get people to want to use the Epic store? The paid exclusive stuff is never going to get me to support Epic.
