Why 12%? We chose this number to provide a super-competitive deal for partners while building an enduring and profitable store business for Epic. From that 12%, we net around 5% after direct costs and that could grow to 6-7% with greater economies of scale.

so why are games on Epic more expensive than they were initially advertised? no savings have been passed on to consumers, no benefit has been passed on to consumers. the only people winning here are the greedy publishers who have been ripping off the entire games industry.

Mr.sweeney, keep doing what your doing. Everybody else may be bitching like toddlers but I, for one, respect your decision as a businessman to actually compete with your competition rather then to just bow and take the leftover scraps they through to you

He is not competing. He is acting like he wants to beat down the Steam monopoly, but he is only in it for the money. If the dreadful day where EPIC has the monopoly ever comes, I can bet you that they will fight tooth and nail to keep that monopoly.

''out of respect for all consumers'' HAHA you are funny. You have no respect for consumers. You are already consumed by greed. There's nothing left...Just dollar signs... right?

I was under the impression that Steam would veto a higher price on Steam if the game is sold cheaper elsewhere...

excuse me for not feeling bad for multibillion dollar companies like EA and activision and these 'savings' you're saving them - you're not saving me money by making games exclusive on the epic store, you're just making it annoying for me to play my games..
