But wait, isn't Epic all about competition?

Regional pricing does not affect the Epic Games storeโs 88/12 revenue share.

Tim I know your current strategy is to go after exclusives to get a foothold in the PC gaming landscape but is there a scenario that would see you rethink this? There is so much bad will toward Epic right now, wouldn't it be better to grow a store on customer value and community?

Thatโs a loaded question! But Epic will stay the course. 30% store dominance is the #1 problem for PC developers, publishers, and everyone who relies on those businesses for their livelihood. Weโre determined to fix it and this is the one approach that will effect major change.

If Steam committed to a permanent 88% revenue share for all developers and publishers without major strings attached, Epic would hastily organize a retreat from exclusives (while honoring our partner commitments) and consider putting our own games on Steam.
Such a move would be a glorious moment in the history of PC gaming, and would have a sweeping impact on other platforms for generations to come.
Then stores could go back to just being nice places to buy stuff, rather than the Game Developer IRS.

I think I prefer Steam being nicer and shouldering fees for regional pricing and stuff instead of dumping it on the consumer.
Y'know.
Like Epic does.

This has nothing to do with regional pricing.

Because they loosing 10-12 games a year out of top 100 games that makes 50% of steam revenue, that's why they would care.

*walks in a store* Not here...
*walks in another store* Not here either..
*drives to neighboring city* Nope..
*drives back home* I'm gonna see that store..
*goes to the smallest and most uninteresting store* Oh. Found it!
Story of my life. But we all do that sometimes. ๐๐
