This is me doing dumb speculation, but I wonder if textual analysis AI will ever get advanced enough to be able to guess at redacted lines of information based on inferences made from the rest of the document, especially if it's huge. Seems like a cool PhD paper for someone.

Sure, I'm wondering if it's possible, even in theory, if you had the unredacted document to test how accurate the guesses are.

Someone else mentioned that variable-width fonts actually allows you do brute force based on permutations, which is probably more reliable. (But probably only feasible for like, a page with a destroyed word or sentence, rather than like, an entire blacked out page). Maybe?
