@TimSweeneyEpic The fact that your entire company was popularized by a game like fortnite, and you having the audacity to create an entire game store in order to compete with a giant like steam is honestly quite sad considering how bare bones it really is.

A game is a product. A game store is where you buy products from. The difference is apparent. If i am putting my trust into your platform as a consumer, at least give me a reason to do so. The stigma of this "store" will never go away until things get clarified.

Dude, this is Tim Sweeney. He's"literally" epic and has been at the top of games since 3D was a thing you could do with a computer. Epic didn't start with fortnight. That's just the recent hot hit that's worth riding.

The reason for it's huge success is the fact that it was a free to play alternative to player unknown's battlegrounds. The fact that it added so many new features and ways to express yourself in the face of emotes lured players in. That is completely fine.

The thing is that EGS will have the most important Steam has to offer by the end of this year, while Valve continues to operate in "Valve Time". This took Valve an entire decade to do, while Epic seems to accomplish it in one year. Interesting times ahead.

fortnite started as a co-op game and as soon as the BR became popular you abandoned that. I payed for a package to save the world and it has been abandoned.

It hasn't been abandoned. It gets major updates every new season, and smaller updates weekly. They even sent out physical rewards to players worldwide who completed the Canny Valley story before Jan 1, 2019. All this obviously means they're still putting effort into the game.
