Current gen consoles weren't sold at a loss. And even if they were, consoles charge an online fee which more than makes up for it while Valve does not. So why are they still charging developers 30%? Consoles make up the majority of sales. Their 30% impacts more than Valves.

Tim isn't against Steam. He's against the 70/30 model. He's spoken out against Google Play and the App Store's split in the past too.
