The saddest part it is I despise Andrew Wilson who popularized lootboxes. But at least as pathetic as Wilson is EA gave the illusion of getting something. All Epic has done is take. Cannibalized every game in your roster. Left Save The World for dead. Now you're killing PC gaming

Steam was killing PC gaming. It was a 30% tax on an entire industry. It was unsustainable. You have no idea how profitable Steam was for Valve. It was a virtual printing press. It distorted the entire company. Epic is fixing this for all gamers.

"We're fixing things for gamers by bypassing all available options. Coveting every title we want to the point you have no choice but come here. Even if you don't want to." Epic has the heart of an abusive spouse. I feel so much better about gaming

It’s another storefront. All of them have exclusives. Apple just announced Apple Arcade, which consists of exclusives, yet nobody says a thing. The funding from these exclusives goes to supporting the game devs that create the games you love, so they can make more games.

And people like yourself keep muddying the waters. You tout the backend of it "Developers get a bigger cut" A bigger cut of an artificially smaller market. The frontend is the issue here. Epic can lower their cut all they want, fine. But the destruction of choice is the problem

Nobody’s forcing developers to do business with Epic. If Steam would cut them a fair deal, devs would go to Steam. Obviously, they aren’t, and Epic is. You should be yelling at Valve for taking its developers and partners for granted for so long.

You are still conflating both conditions. We all agree the revenue splits should be better. Epic should sell their games the way they want at the cut they want. No one has an issue with that. The issue is them locking every other store out of the game

Humble will work with willing devs and pubs to sell Epic Games store games, including exclusives. (Epic doesn’t receive a cut in this case). More reputable digital sellers coming.https://www.cnet.com/news/epic-humble-store-partner-for-game-sales-including-exclusives/ …

          1. Do sales through Humble count as sales from the publisher/developer perspective? IE does a humble sale count towards sale targets a publisher many have for developer bonuses? 2. Do I need to install the Epic Store to redeem the game?

Ok, its pretty clear I will need to install the Epic Store (which makes sense, that was a silly question). Id be curious to hear about the first point though. If a publisher has told a developer they get a bonus at say 3 million sell-through, will a Humble Key count towards that?

I'd also love to know when Borderlands 3 will fall under that deal. As of now I have no intention of getting it for PC unless it's somewhere else that appreciates my business as a customer and doesn't take my patronage for granted.

If you guys didn't pay for exclusives these games would already be on about a dozen legitimate third party websites like Humble Bundle.

So what? Epic made them a fair competitive deal, and the developers took it. Now the developers can grow and make new games or whatever instead of scraping by trying to eek out a profit on a dozen stores loaded with shovelware.
