    Finally, I believe the "GPU fad" I spoke of back in 1998 will end by 2030. Thereafter, we'll have some mix of random-access-optimized and vector-optimized computing units, and will address them by just writing code, without any recognizable GPU pipeline or fixed-function units.

        Me and @YuriyODonnell are trying to push better programming model with first class GPU kernel enqueue. Would eventually remove the need for barriers, async compute and even command queues. And hopefully could say goodbye for the graphics API in the end.

        Would be nice. Resource allocation vs latency hiding vs scheduling granularity are my interesting questions at this point.
