Tim himself said in an interview that they wanted to avoid a Metro Exodus scenario again where a game is available on a platform, and then they pull it off that to be am EGS exclusive

Yeah, thanks. I couldn't find it. I understand my face on Twitter is a bit... Brunt, but I'm curious to know what the difference is in the partnership with UbiSoft and that statement, or is it moreso to do with the year long timeframe that's there?

I'm sure there are details you can't divulge, but I'm sure you can see why this is a bit confusing from a consumers perspective/perhaps a bit, deceptive? That might be too strong a word.

This deal was signed before Steve’s statement. But more generally, in the future, I expect we’ll be open to signing in with any devs or pubs who are willing, regardless of their past plans about Steam.

Ultimately I feel these calls must be up to devs and pubs. If Epic said “we won’t consider exclusivity funding agreements with products announced on Steam”, that would have a chilling effect on their willingness to do business with Steam, which isn’t fair to them or Valve.

So you've spent 6 months doing everything possible to hurt Steam and suddenly you care about whether these deals are fair to Valve or not? That's rich. More than anything, people just want you to STOP LYING.

Epic’s goal isn’t to hurt Steam. It’s to bring gamers into our store and services and give them a better deal. Whether this hurts Steam or ultimately makes Valve a more effective competitor is up to them much more than us.

How does excluding legit 3rd party keysellers from selling a game (see Division 2) factor into giving us better deals? Admittedly I'm not a billionaire so what do I know but none of this adds up. Well it kinda does, to a big pile of bullshit.

Not sure why the Humble Store announcement didn’t make it to r/pcgaming.
