so why are your deals requiring that publishers remove their games from Steam?
These are exclusives (or in some cases co-exclusives) in exchange for funding, marketing, or other negotiated benefits. The purpose is to bring more gamers to our store.
How does excluding legit 3rd party keysellers from selling a game (see Division 2) factor into giving us better deals? Admittedly I'm not a billionaire so what do I know but none of this adds up. Well it kinda does, to a big pile of bullshit.
We’re eager to support reputable digital stores. Already started with Humble. More to come.https://www.pcmag.com/news/367297/epic-games-store-titles-including-exclusives-headed-to-hum …
You can't offer customers a better deal when the Epic Games store functions + launcher are objectively worse than Steam's. If you aren't "hurting" Steam, then you wouldn't force customers to use your worse service with no added benefits.
Your past 6 months of statements to the press say otherwise. Not that long ago you were defending Steam and attacking Microsoft for much less then your own company is doing now. Funny how things change when your company's the one that stands to profit.
so your goal isnt to hurt steam yet you forcibly rip steam users away from steam by taking the game they've been waiting YEARS to play and saying "no you can only play it by downloading installing and purchasing it on our inferior platform. no steam."
your store doesnt even come close to 1% of what steam is and this exclusivity scandal just made epic stores publication 100x worse than steams its actually so bad people stopped talking about steams faults and are resorting to pirating. maybe next time offer discounts.
Epic not even hurts me. Because -> exclusive to Epic Store means for me exclusive to the Arrrr Store. Got for me and my pocket :)
Even if your goal isn't to hurt Steam, you are hurting other stores like GOG, GMG, Fanatical and Nuuvem.
