This, @TimSweeneyEpic: we do get competition might make things better, but not in the way you're doing it. Also, you don't consider other countries in the same way Steam does (and I frankly think you don't even care).
Also, "gamers don't see" is incredibly condescending.https://twitter.com/YongYea/status/1109976390538018816 …

We DO see that. The way you're approaching it, however, is what's not right. It's incredibly condescending to think we don't see that much (or that you don't see how it's aggravating to many gamers everywhere, including developers who depend on them).

But... we LIKE that you're doing this for developers. What we don't like is yanking games already in development for exclusivity deals, on an OPEN PLATFORM. that's anti-choice and anti-consumer. I get you want the store to get into the market. that's fine. I want that too, but

the choices that people are making, however good for them, it turns many of us off. it makes us want you to do better for the consumer, too. and we will complain about it, even if we end up caving and downloading your feature barren store launcher. ultimately now it's on steam..

Perhaps you could tackle that problem WITHOUT aggravating your potential customers.

No, aims DO NOT justify the means, generally speaking.

Precisely. I would be on
@TimSweeneyEpic's boat if Epic's launcher wasn't so... abysmal and his way of challenging Steam wasn't so infuriating and antagonising against gamers (and developers, even if he says it's 'for them'). - 2 more replies
