@TimSweeneyEpic 2/2 and as a gamer, I'll strike a bargain with you. If you were to admit that this is all about money. That it has nothing to do with making anything better for anyone but yourself, and Epic in general - I'll respect you for being honest an come buy shit on Epic.

Tell me then, what happens if/when Valve matches your split? Developers/publishers won't sign your deal anymore. Because every time one does, uproar. So if/when valve matches you - they will go back to steam, and gamers will have things as they want. What then?

If Steam matches the 88/12 revenue split, then Valve wins. I believe that would be such a powerful move that all the other 70/30 dominos and walled gardens would soon fall. In this scenario, all developers win, and Epic would be the happy loser of the store wars.

Also, ALSO - you could have gotten away with the exclusivity bullshit IF you had limited to previous console exclusives. Because THEN, it would have been games never meant for PC, you'd have been a hero to gamers for bringing such games to PC.

Stealing away games that were originally advertised for Steam however, only gets you hate. An hate that by proxy also effects the 88/12 split. Which, no one will disagree is a good thing for the industry. HOWEVER, you using it as a weapon against gamers will make most hate it
