This would make a good economic analysis. I'd attribute Steam's high marketshare to Valve being the first to release a great service, to continually improving it without major error, and to the effects of Metcalfe's law on social communities and friends graphs.

And now exclusives too for developers who choose to work with Humble Store!
-
Oh boy! Third Party Exclusives! The thing PC gamers NEVER had to deal with! I'll say EXACTLY what ticks me and others off about the Epic Store. It is an inferior product that is using exclusives as a club. I don't care about your developer cut %. I buy games, not make them.

If this is your idea of competition then I don't think Valve has anything to worry about.

I think Valve will do just fine, and I honestly hope they crush Sweeney and his smug storefront. We don't need his ilk polluting an open platform with his forced and locked one.

And how is that different from what Microsoft was doing with their UWP store?

"non exclusive games", so you're basically trying to stamp out the ability to find and obtain good deals on anything you've not got your mitts on?.
