So according to this post https://metacouncil.com/threads/epic-game-store-spyware-tracking-and-you.766/#post-23902 … you started collecting Steam data in May of 2018, one month after Valve effectively killed Steamspy's ability to collect data. Is it a coincidence you started to collect Steam data at this time?

I think this is where you have big misunderstanding. Gamers aren't interested using storefront if it doesn't have enough features. Epic store was/is missing basic ones like cloud saves and basic search functions. People want more than games. Exclusives just make people angry.

Imagine thinking a store has too many features for both devs and customers to take advantage of. Imagine thinking these things aren't important to actual customers.

Steam has been here for many years at least give epic a year.
-
If they want to compete now, they should have features now, not a year later. As you said, Steam has been around for years and more than that, Epic has been literally spying on them for quite some time. They should have known better than release a store with no features at all.

"and we believe gamers come to a store for particular games rather than for store features." Oh yeah I absolutely hate all the optional features Steam gives me - said no one ever.
-
I do. There is a reason things like Discord gained popularity. Because you can have a bunch of features and absolutely half bake them. I have to use Google to search Steam forums effectively, and half the time find a better Reddit thread. To name a few things.

I come to steam for the reviews, community forums, news, and better deal/games browsing feature... all in one place.. imagine the day where you no longer need to google much for genre specific games.. where it incorporates user browsing behavior for it's listing algorithm.
