So @TimSweeneyEpic... Are exclusives ok now if they benefit you? https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-ceo-tim-sweeney-pummels-microsofts-uwp-initiative/ … Or are you going to keep pretending you were talking about something different?

If we want more investment in development and better prices on games, stores are going to have to compete this way. If the existing market leader automatically got the rights the rights to all games, then they’d take 30% forever and the competition would continue to fail.

This is ultimately nonsense from a consumer's perspective, since an additional monopoly that has exclusive games on it not because it's good but because it has financial backing is exactly the same problem as Steam has. tl;dr you played yourself

The Epic Games store doesn’t block Steam, and Steam doesn’t block the Epic Games store, and both are freely installable online...

and yet i can play my steam copy offline while friend has to be online to launch his epic copy .... i guess its all about the "bribes to devs" without single care for customers

I don't agree with you, Tim! Valve offers ALL developers to publish their game on
@steam_games. You only let a few exclusive ones in! How do you know in advance if a game is successful or not? You can't know that! More stores only mean more work for small developers! -
We’ll be opening the store up much more widely later in the year.

Well yeah, you can't beat "Paying developpers to remove their games from elsewhere". You know it's not a sustainable model and is one akin to marketing. They didn't remove their game for a year because of your cut. But because you paid them to.

Paying developers more money sooner enables them to fund new and better games sooner, compared to earning 18% less, later.
