New UX anti-pattern invented by @GoogleChromeDev. Think this means Chrome will ask before sending notifications? Nope, it means the opposite; click it and it will turn into "Blocked" with an "Off" indicator, also the opposite of the plain meaning of this UI.pic.twitter.com/1XwrnO0Qsg

And then they list a bunch of Google owned services with notifications forced on, with this explained by the text "controlled by plug-in", as if the @GoogleChromeDev team couldn't possibly have a button to turn these notifications.

Chrome jumped the UX shark about a year ago, and it's been all downhill since. There is a "my way or the highway" ethos from the Chrome team of late that just smacks of hubris. Happens to browsers... start nice light and svelte. Die bloated and full of crap people dont want.

Thats also valid for @YouTube too, UX as a creator has being becoming more and more confusing by the time.

"Ask before sending" if you want the browser to display a pop up with the Block / Allow actions. Turn off that option to Block notifications by default - because nobody on their right mind would want to receive notifications for all sites

I think sending in this case is about how the Push API works, not about who sends the notifications
