If they're why release? You released a shitty store. And we all know that Tencent controls Epic, they don't invest all that money without control.
Don’t forget about steam keys with 100% revenue going to the devs/publishers
Most developers do not have their own store front to sell their keys, so they end up selling them sites like Fanatical, Greenman Gaming, ect, in which the developers end up getting less for those keys then they do from Steam sales themselves.
http://fortune.com/2018/05/17/data-sheet-tencent-fortnite-china/ … Not sure if you're reporting numbers wrong but it says Tencent holds 40% of Epic Games, as a company. While that is smaller than 60% that seems like quite a bit no?
It doesn't matter if they're "quite a bit". What matters is if they control the company. Since they're a minority investor they don't, which is exactly what he's saying.
If this is true, why are these developers still releasing their games on consoles, where they are being charged 30% as well?
I'll just wait for these games on Steam and avoid having my data sold to the Chinese Government.
