How so? We process Fortnite payments and pay for CDN bandwidth and customer service. This costs 5-8% combined in most territories. So a store charging 30% is marking up that cost by 300-500%. Please elaborate if you have conflicting data.

So why are you charging people extra processor fees that no other store does?

You still haven’t answered my question. Why do you charge the consumer for payment methods no one else charges their consumers for?

Different stores handle unusual payments in different ways. For example, Apple sets higher store fees (sometimes well above 30%) for all transactions in territories with higher overhead payment methods, even when customers use more efficient methods.

Epic adds a payment processing fee to the high-overhead international payment methods marked with asterisks in the hyperlinked chart above because it’s the only practicable way to operate a 12% fee store in those developing countries. Why Valve takes 30% everywhere I do not know.

Finland and Denmark have widespread access to credit cards and bank accounts compatible with PayPal. There is no surcharge with these payment methods. There would only be a surcharge if paying with a high overhead payment method like PayLetter retail cards.

If anyone is seeing a surcharge with European or North American MasterCard or Visa, please speak up, that’s not expected.
