Is there a consumer right to buy any product in any store of your choosing? Do we have the right to buy a Toyota at a Ford dealer? A Whopper at McDonalds? No; stores compete on selection as well as price and features.

Everything you say makes sense, Tim. And Id love to see more competition, and more money going to devs. But the way you are doing it is just pissing everyone off. No one has a positive brand association with your storefront now. There has to be a better way to break into market

I agree. Now, if he were throwing big money around to liberate previously exclusive games and content, from the past two console generations, as examples, he'd run out of storage for all the goodwill. Demon's Souls port appears on Epic Games Store? Ok, now you have my attention.

If you have to charge extra for those processing fees, then clearly a 12% cut isn't enough to run a store, nor is it a realistic percentage.
-
It is not that's why if they get established they will increase it. It's there to lure smaller developers and publishers in and nothing more and anyone who can't see this is naive.

Considering the FAQ clearly states "Epic’s 12% share covers the operating costs of the store and makes us a profit.", and processing fees are operating costs, I'm going to call BS on that explanation. Try again, maybe?

And you think paying off costs to consumers in developing countries aka the ones with the least purchasing power already, is a good thing? All for your bottom line?
-
This is the only practicable way to operate a 12% fee store in developing countries. In some parts of Russia and Southeast Asia, the only widely accessible payment methods are retail cards with 15%+ fee. These are a small fraction of overall transactions though.
