Every game should support portable cloud-based saves these days. With so many personal computing devices -- desktop, laptop, smartphone, console, Chromebook, iPad, etc -- having to worry about what device we last played a particular game on distracts from the experience itself.

It's something that's almost ubiquitous; so much so that I almost forgot emailing save files to myself so I could play games at work and home.

It's coming up for me because I've been noticing that games I've been playing from the
@EpicGames store, particularly Subnautica and Edith Finch, aren't saving to cloud. Or I just missed it, I'd be happy if I just missed it. Notable is that they've also been FREE :)1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
Yes I also noticed this about subnautica. The crazy thing is that steam will do it for you with 5 min of setup.

No I meant I noticed that on the steam version and it’s super lazy for a steam game to not set up cloud saves.

That said, I wonder if the epic sdk even has cloud saves, maybe that’s the problem with Edith finch. Care to comment

Cloud saves are coming to our open APIs, but aren’t in yet. See roadmap here: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/epic-2019-cross-platform-online-services-roadmap …
