Reading the blog, it seems to me like Unity wants a partnership of some kind with all such companies. Improbable didn't want such a partnership as it probably required them paying a certain fee and more (who knows what). Then Unity changed the ToS to get rid of Improbable.

What fees? Where is this disclosed? The Unreal Engine EULA tells all developers exactly what the engine costs, and exactly what rights they are guaranteed. How can an engine company be trusted when it demands secret payments from cloud service providers and SDK makers?
