Unreal Engine is open to everyone on equal terms, including competitors. There’s a Unity Ads plug-in. There’s native Steam support. At the peak of our UWP argument with Microsoft, they maintained a GitHub fork with support and we referred mutual customers to it.

Sorry, what Unity is doing? They're guilty of having a poorly worded ToS, sure, but this is on Improbable. The Dec 5th change to ToS was a language change. The rules were in place and Improbable was told they were in violation.
But we all know that staying on a specific version, due to EULA changes, is a kiss of death. Been there, done that. Ask me how I know.
It’s not so bad for a game. Typically you stop taking new engine updates some time, e.g. 6 months, before shipping for stability reasons.
