@TimSweeneyEpic why do all these video game publishers start there own digital distribution service on pc? Annoying that you have to download so much bloatware just to play that particular game from that particular company, steam taking too high a cut or something?

Steam taking 30% of everyone’s money is too high so every publisher runs their own service, but not competing with a lower cut than 30%, because they all want to be the next guy to take 30% of everyone’s money.

Yes, the Unreal Engine marketplace originally took 30%. Now that Fortnite has brought our e-commerce huge economies of scale, we dropped it to 12%.
