I'm using std::type_index in a messaging system and I'm feeling dirty. Are there other options?
Looking at it further, the indices are guaranteed to be unique on a given run, even with external modules. So no hashing should be necessary.

I couldn't find a good source which states that, but I've made a small test and, despite being different variables, two indices in different executables to the same type have the same pointer to the same type info, and compare equal. Thanks very much!
