        That proves that even the legends can be very wrong. What's the difference between a human and a machine? We are machines. We behave deterministically given the state of our world just like machines do. There's no magic. We just have a very complex model.

        asking whether machines can think is pretty uninspired. but I've been asking myself if, and when, machines can surprise us based on what program we put in, and this has been a very useful source of research.
