@EpicGames wasn't really happy with the details of his #vulnerability being made public.
@TimSweeneyEpic opines that #Google should have waited longer before revealing details of the “man-in-the-disk” (#MITM) security hole. Do you agree? | By @gcluleyhttps://www.grahamcluley.com/fortnite-fury-over-how-google-handled-its-huge-security-hole/ …

Because now I know I need to load up the game and update it or delete the app. Any of the players who just tried out Fortnite would have been exposed.

Yes, telling users that a flaw was found and advising updating is valuable. But, again, why did Google have to rapidly disclose the technical details? Who does that help, other than hackers?

By making sure the problem is so big its fixed quickly. The best result for all, seems your hurt and throwing toys...

What's wrong with wanting to keep the profits from a game that you created? Google did nothing for Fortnite whatsoever. Why should they get a cut?

I had the game installed as soon as I heard I uninstalled the game and launcher but it could be too late as I have a Samsung s9+

If it's not on the Play Store don't expect an install. Been using Epic since the Megagames days of One Must Fall: 2097 and Epic Pinball...

For starters? It tells everyone who toggled Unknown Sources to install your game that, in general, that's a really bad idea. And....that's exactly what it is. You guys gotta protect your bottom line, so I get it, but this won't be the last time Fortnite comes up re: security.

If it's not an actual issue with the launcher, it's going to be the user who didn't revoke Chrome's ability to install .apk files and loaded their device with malware. Unfortunately, it's a matter of "when" not "if".

Because it makes android users aware of the issue, so they can get the game patched too, rather than giving hackers the chance to expoloit it themselves? Maybe you should put on your big-boy pants for once and accept your at fault for asking them to NOT inform people about it.
-
When you open the launcher, if there is a new update, you must install it before you can continue. There is nothing the user could do with that info on the bug before it was patched.
