I saw your words on the linked article, and I agree that that is likely 100% why they chose to go public so fast. I'm just not surprised they did. It's a shame that your software had an issue, and it's a shame that Google were able to run with that.
-
Just try to acknowledge that it was actually your software that put users at risk, not Google.

Ha! You're in no place to critique Google. Your selfish arrogance in assuming you had no need for play store put all your clients at risk. You deserve to lose some trust from your users. Thanks Google for looking out for us when selfish companies won't!
-
And oh by the way, this 1 wk disclosure is a formal standard for Google, I'm glad they don't change their policy to try to help shady app developers save face!

Don't blame Google for this, this is a policy they have for a long time now. If your Client does not contain a force Update function for emergency situations to roll out those things instantly to everyone, it is the failure of your Team, not of Google.

90 days is no longer a realistic timeline. DoD requires a 24hr fix time (patch or workaround) for critical vulnerabilities. This vulnerability was as critical as the scale allows. The industry needs to reevaluate it's timeline expectations.

Hello Tim, why not bypass Apple, Google and what say you entirely in the future and make a concentrated foray into HTML5 gaming. This way you can create cross platform games that are OS agnostic to the benefit of all your users even those not using for instance iOS or Android :)
-
And another plus the vulnerabilities and OS changes as well as changes and cuts from walled gardens will be none of your concerns as the OS/browser ppl are responsible for upholding HTML5 standards etc.
