This article is misleading. You make it sound like websites are auto-sideloading APKs without the users' consent--but you still have to manually install them. @TimSweeneyEpic's instructions just tell people to manually install APKs w/o an app store, at the user's discretion.

That’s an important point. Every APK installation request in Chome pops up a security dialog asking the user if they would like to install the software, and noting the risks of installing untrusted software.

What’s the solution to the “users making bad decisions” problem though? To give platform companies a monopoly on consumer software distribution and in-app commerce?
