I'm glad that the annoying hype is coming to an end for Magic Leap. Billions of dollars can't change the laws of physics for wave guide optics.

The product vision video was quite an extrapolation, but fundamentally I think the billion-unit-selling version of AR is an incrementally improved version of what Magic Leap is doing today: smaller, higher FOV, more sensors, faster GPU - all problems that Moore’s Law will solve.

Looks like the product is far from providing the hyped results, though. The demo they showed so far were pretty disappointing given the hype they were building over the years.

The Magic Leap One also doesn't yet incorporate all of the technologies that Magic Leap is working on yet though. There's some work to be done yet to miniaturize all the really cool shit for a consumer-facing prototype.
