I hear that but with JIRA, SmartSheet, Asana all at $50M+ revenue by default they seem better positioned to capture the benefits of network effects & lock-in unless a challenger has a unique network effects play they are betting on, which I'd love to understand
Why do project management tools have network effects?
Because they work better when people use them together.
Right, but most of the users do not have the choice no? The customers here are organizations/teams, and users would have to join the network?
That's not how slack evolved. You get individuals to use it on a case by case basis until it becomes ubiquitous within the organization.
Hmm, not sure this is what network effect means.
I was describing the adoption modality, not why PM software does or doesn't have a network effect.
