You have to enjoy that the Times doesn't refer to Maria Bartiromo in its story by name -- or even call her a reporter (which, of course, she isn't). She's identified as a "Fox Business personality."

And when Italian officials told Barr and Durham about Trump's possible financial misdealings what did they do? Barr gave Durham the authority to investigate it, they kept the probe a secret -- and then they apparently buried whatever they found.

And yes: Bill Barr was just as unethical, partisan and thuggish throughout all of this as you might have suspected him to be.

Durham's probe had "some of the very same flaws — including a strained justification for opening it and its role in fueling partisan conspiracy theories that would never be charged in court — that Trump allies claim characterized the Russia investigation"

Donald Trump has been indicted for no crimes.
Donald Trump has been reinstated to Twitter and Facebook.
Donald Trump is running for president again.
It's almost as if a violent, Trump-incited insurrection never happened.

The real issue here is that our criminal justice system, more than 2 years out, has failed to hold Trump accountable. It does takes time to build a successful prosecution, but we are running out of it. As Meta's decision shows, the clock is ticking.
