The more the food stamps keep going out the more the poverty goes up (as your USDA stats show) BUT in my town of Belfast, as @TiffanyBond well knows, there is no hunger in Waldo County and thus no need for increasing food stamps. This is understood and hope you can make sense of.

Certainly a US House Rep can push contracts when possible and try to nudge budgets/programs out to their own state and others, but it's a state-driven process mostly.

Should I prevail for
#ME02, there would need to be a lot of collaboration with whomever takes the Blaine House and the rest of the federal delegation (as well as communities, etc). The federal levers don't do much in a collaborative vacuum.#mepolitics
