Hey #mepolitics, can we talk about what a ridiculous line the good guy with a gun is?
Stick with me here for the thread...because I'm not going to advocate to take your guns unless you are the bad guy.
However, we need to start talking about this. It's way past time.https://twitter.com/loisbeckett/status/992465954620739584 …

I think that's the conversation we should be having. How do we create bad guys with guns? What can we do to reverse engineer those factors to help people who may turn into bad guys with guns not do that, or limit (even on a temporary basis) those going through a crisis?

The supports I am talking about are not that. How would expanding IEPs/pre-k, working on how we criminalize and expanding healthcare access be taking guns? That's catching problems early.

We do need better enforcement and fine tuning of laws with folks who are restricted access to weapons due to dv/assault, and better laws for mental health crisis that include threats of harm to others or oneself.

How is expanding access to individualized education programs (IEPs) and pre-k reduce liberties for anyone?

I thought prek was silly...but now that my boys are in school, youngest in a prek that my older did not do, I think many children, including mine, benefit. My children were academically on pace, involved in activities, play dates, etc. Different issues popped up in school.
